Q on Wimbledon.....?

(And before I give the details, I'd just like to say to User "Mr.Cricket": If you are going to BLAST me off the face of the Earth again, then don't bother answering please! And by the way, Righteous Revolution is my friend and she did NOT deserve the offensive answer you gave her yesterday. My Q's are directed at other Users - they are not oppurtunities to start debates).

Q: I have been following Wimbledon for years now and I'm familiar with the rules and the game. Like I said, I'm not a pro. But I was just wondering, who do you think deserves to win the Mens & Womens finals this year, based on their performances in the tournament so far? I would personally like to see Venus win her 5th title & Nadal beat Federer in the Mens Final! Also, it is my opinion that Ivanovitch doesn't deserve to be the World No.1 because I just think she hasn't done anything amazing or brilliant yet. I mean, Venus & Jankovitch have played brilliantly this year and Venus won last year for the 4th time....

Your favourite pick is same as mine. I really hope Venus and Nadal would win this year. If Venus and Nadal doesn't win, I'm rooting for Safin and a female player from Asia (although sounds impossible, I'll hope either Tanasugarn or Zheng Jie.) or some rising star from Europe to win (Azarenka, Radwanska, Vaidisova). Even Serena, Kuznetsova, Dementieva are veteran and Jankovic is the top player, don't know why I don't feel like rooting for them. I only hope Venus to win other than that I'll only hope player from asia or rising star from Europe to win. I know it's weird but I just feel that way!

I for one would love to see the Williams sisters play for the tournament this year. I think both haven't won in a while and it would be an exceptional match if both played in the finals as they would definitely come out to play. I also would love for Nadal and Federer to play in the finals and hope that Nadal wins as he came so close to winning last year and would prove to the world that he is ready to play on other surfaces not just clay.

Venus is very good on grass, but she hasn't shown top form so far. Jankovic is playing with confidence, and the only obstacle in her way of a grand slam finals (imo) is Ivanovic, which is all mental to her. Now that ivanovic is out i think jankovic will play A LOT better and win all her matches!!!! She does deserve to win because she is underrated on clay in my opinion. I think Federer is going to win though, because he is a god on grass, and has shown his form. I think marat safin deserves to win though because he has beaten Djokovic, and has been playing in his old form that won him 2 grand slams!

I would say that Nadal will defeat Federer in 4 sets for the mens final.



Now that Ivanovic is out, I bet that Jankovic will win Wimbledon now for the womens. She has been pretty solid, actually.

Safin, and Safina are both in the final.

Nadal beats Federer in the final.
