Who should have won more Slam titles: Jana Novotna or Gabriela Sabatini?

Jana and Sabatini had the talent to win more Slams, but they underachieved. I feel Jana had a little more natural ability than Sabatini, so Jana gets my vote as the player who should have won more Slams.

While both had the opportunities to win more than just the one slam they won, I believe Sabatini should have won more. For a while when she and Graf had just emerged on the tour as the new stars of the next generation, it was assumed that Sabatini would have gone on to achieve a lot more than she did at the slams.

just to clarify-gabi was only in two other finals after her win at u.s. open,not three. novotna was a R-U three times.



looking at the comparison of results,there really isn't a much in between them in terms of their performances in those final losses. but considering jana was in one more that sabatini she probably could have taken one of those wins. but the same could be said of sabatini since she did lose a very close 8-6 in the third to steffi at wimby. so both,imo,did have the chances to. they both should have won at least one of them.
