that racquet has the mid range tension at 60, which is right where you're at. a tension of 60 is usually on the high side for other player's frames, but as the aeropro offers a little more power, the mid range is higher than the lower powered ones. But if you feel that the tension is too tight after you break in the strings by playing with them for a couple sets, consider lowering the tension a bit to test it. Remember that playing with the strings will lower the tension naturally as time passes by. keep testing the strings and good luck

High tension, more control, less power.

Lower tension, more power, the string bed has more flex and "trampolines" the ball more.

If you have a fast swing speed, you can supply more power, so i'd go with a higher tension. Another thing to watch for is if you use poly strings like I do, its recommended that you string 10% less than ur normal tension.

I don't really know much about your style of play, but you sound a LOT like me. I didn't know much about string tensions until I did some research very recently.

Either you can have a lot of power, a lot of control, or a comfortable blend. I'd say that if you put a lot of power on your shots, unless you're consistently getting outpowered, that you should focus on control, so that you can hit your favorite power-shots more consistently.

So basically, if you have a lot of power, control can become a big issue...I know it definitely is for me. On my new racquet, I got it strung at 62 pounds, and my game improved from a 4.0 to a 4.5.

Also, going back to the control issue, topspin strings help, too. I use Prince Top spin with Duraflex, I highly recommend that you use those.

You should educate yourself on the different strings too. It all depends on your strokes, and how consistent you are. If you are hitting with power and hitting the ball long too often, you could increase the tension to give yourself a bit more control (less power/ trampoline effect). Or you can go with a stiffer string (luxilon or poly plasma), or a thinner string (17 gauge), to give the ball some extra topspin, to increase consistency. If you are not a "string-breaker", I suggest you try a 17-gauge string, and increase the tension by 2 pounds. That should give your power some more consistency and "feel". If you have the money, you should also try Natrual Gut - its the best string out there and it feels great.

Ok here is the basic low down.

The looser the tension, the more power you will have in your shot. That's because the bed of the strings will give a little more and you will get more bounce from it. However with the extra pop you will obviously need to work more on keep the ball from going out of bounds.

Higher string tensions make you lose power because there is less bounce from the strings when it hits the ball. However you do have more control when you use a tight string tension.

I currently use 62, which is pretty high. There really is not trick to it. Just try out different tensions (I recommend staying within the range of your racket though) and see which one works for you.
