Like so. http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=109489&highlight=tie+rubber+band

And...to the first poster on the thread, illegal?

Roddick also uses one. Am I missing something?

It may depend on how you're tying it, you cant have it above the bottom cross string. You can use vibration dampners as illegally as rubber bands, so I think it would be misleading to say rubber bands are illegal for pros.

Well technically, using a rubber band is illegal.

But you don't sound like a pro, so...

You can just tie the rubber band around the bottom of the two center vertical (main strings) strings. Make sure that it is tied below all of the horizontal strings (cross strings).

To be truthful, a rubber band does not help that much as far as shock dampening. I suggest you buy a shock absorber, they cost anywhere from $1-3. Plus, they're legal to use.

Good luck!
