Question:
Volleyball shoes for tennis shoes?

I prefer the brands (known for quality and arch support) of volleyball shoes (Asics & Mizuno) over the brands of tennis shoes and am wondering if the sole of volleyball shoes will hold up to a tennis court or is it too soft? Seems like the on court movements are very similar - starts and stops and side to side movement.

even good tennis shoes only last a couple of months

at best before there are any holes in them, so i would

suggest looking for a tennis shoe design that you like

and hope that it has a 6 month warranty on them...

even though it might seem like volleyball shoes might

be easier to move around with when your playing tennis,

it would only last a couple of weeks, depending on how

often you play tennis, before they start to wear out..

n then you'll just be out of luck since you'll have no

shoes for tennis AND no shoes for volleyball..

Yes, the on court movements are very similar, but the surface is not. An indoor volleyball court is pretty slick, where tennis courts are rather rough.

You will quickly destroy the out sole of a volleyball shoe if you use it on a tennis court. It's simply way too soft.

Tennis shoes have fairly thick out soles made of harder rubber, to stand up to the abuse they take from the surface.

Have you really tried all the tennis shoes out there? New balance has some good ones. The Adidas Barricades are very popular and comfortable. One of my personal favorites would be the Nike Max Breathe shoes. They are very lightweight, and keep cool during long play in the heat. I've even used the MV4's by Prince, and those were pretty great, too.

If you're wondering about quality, I believe all the shoes I mentioned have a 6-month out sole guarantee. I will rip through a pair of regular shoes in a few weeks of serious play. It takes me about 6 months to get through some of these shoes. Definitely worth the extra cost to me.

both brands make tennis shoes, you can prob. find them online.

the volleyball sole will not hold up if you play hard court. could be okay on clay.

i like asics tennis shoes myself. their "gel" system is very comfortable.

Asics and Mizuno are #1 and #2 shoe company in Japan, too bad not very popular here...
