Tennis racket head size and tension?

Supposedly smaller head size offer more control and less power and higher tension means more control and lower tension means more power.

I was wondering when one uses a mid-plus head size with control but have it strung at a lower tension to make it more powerful so I want to know if the lower tension on the racket would offset the control aspect of it. Vice versa for bigger headsize with high tension. Thanks.

There are so many variables when it comes to tennis racquets. Increasing the tension increases control. A big racquet head with loose strings is like a trampoline. The bigger the head, the easier it is to not mishit the ball. If you mishit the ball a lot, I would go with a bigger head size. Strings are like tires on car - they are VERY important. You wouldn't use old, used, tires on a porsche would you? Go with a racquet you can handle. If you have good stroke mechanics, you can usually handle the smaller head sizes on a head light frame. Then play around with the string tension until you find the right balance of power and control that fits your game. I would go with a hybrid of strings. Natural gut in the mains, and a thinner poly in the crosses. Everyone is different, but if you do your homework, the right racquet and the right strings can really help bring out the best in your tennis game. Good luck and have fun!
